There is a chance that I will eventually be deployed to Kosovo. Seems like good time as any to pick up a second language. www.rosettastone.com/learn-russian Does it seem worth it or have I been spending too much time thinking about removing kebab?

Why are you deploying to Kosovo? Which country's military are you enlisted in? The US Armed Forces offer language courses for free.

Ah gotcha, sorry I don't know how the National Guard plays out the Rosetta stone freebies. Honestly I tried learning Russian for various reasons. Got an A in Russian 101 but lost interest.

From your brief encounter with Russian, did you find everyday use for it at all?
Also is the verbage set up for feminine, masculine, and all other tenses?
Curiosity more so than anything else.
Still questioning weather or not I should drop the money on da stone.

Still questioning weather or not I should drop the money on da stone. Aside from /k/ there wasn't much use for Russian in my day to day life. It would've been cool if I was fluent at reading it so I could transcribe the AK magazine someone had at the Midwest NuggetFest. It had a solid paragraph in Russian but I could only pick out a few words. Looked like someone was' telling a personal story by etching into the magazine. Russian has 3 genders for their words. Masculine, Feminine and Neuter/neutral. Their sentence structure is also more basic. Instead of saying "How do you do that?" They'd say "How you do that?" Or instead of "What do you do?" They'd say "What you do?" That's why you hear a lot broken Russian like "How you are doing comrades!"

It sounds easier to speak. Thank you for the info. Just a thought, but it's almost always worthwhile to pick up another language. It stands out immensely on a resume. And kosovo will give you a chance to practice it in real-time, which ALWAYS helps with fluency.

... Just came down, not Kosovo someplace a little more hot...
I may need to look at learning how to read moon runes.
